Altana Federal Credit Union has partnered with a cell phone recycling service in an effort to raise money for Relay for Life. Old cell phones will be collected at each Altana location and will then be sent in to be recycled. The earnings will be applied to the American Cancer Society.
While some phones will simply be recycled for their precious metal content, other phones will be refurbished and sold around the world. During the refurbishment process, all personal data is erased. However, it is recommended to clear out any sensitive data and remove the SIM card before recycling a phone.
To donate an old phone, simply visit any one of Altana’s locations in Billings, Columbus, Laurel or Red Lodge.
