  • How do I change the PIN on my debit card?

    PIN for your Debit Card can be changed at an ATM or by calling 1.877.746.6746. For security purposes, you will be asked for the primary account holder’s social security number.

  • What do I do if my Debit Card is lost or stolen?

    Please report the lost card to Altana FCU immediately by calling 1.800.682.6075, this will block the card from any further purchases. To get a new card issued, please call Card Services at 406.651.AFCU(2328). Report any suspected unauthorized activity.

  • How much can I withdraw from an ATM?

    You can withdraw up to $508 per day ($1016 for a Business Debit Card), provided the funds are available in your account.

  • Which ATM's are free to use?

    CO-Op network ATMs in the US are surcharge free to Altana members.

    You may use your Debit card at any ATM, but there may be fees involved.

  • What is the difference between a Credit Card and a Debit Card?

    Although you use a debit card much like you would a credit card, the method of payment is different. When using a debit card, you are using the money from your checking account. The amount of our purchase must be available in your checking account at the time the purchase is made. When using a credit card, you are borrowing money against your available credit line. You pay that money back when you make your monthly payment.

  • Does my debit card have spending limits?

    Purchase transactions where your PIN is used are limited to $5000 per day, ATM withdrawals are limited to $508 per day ($1018 for Business Debit Cards). Transactions using your signature are limited to $5000 per day or the balance in your checking account, including any Courtesy Pay coverage.

  • Is there a fee to use my debit card for purchases?

    No, there is no fee to use your debit card for purchases.

  • What does it mean when I use my debit card and the clerk asks "Debit or Credit"?

    There are two types of debit card transactions: debit (PIN) and credit (signature). When paying for a purchase, the clerk will ask "debit or credit?" When you reply "debit" to the clerk, it becomes a PIN transaction. You are required to enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN) after the card has been swiped. With PIN transactions, funds are withdrawn from your account immediately at the time of the transaction. When you reply "credit" to the clerk, it becomes a signature transaction. Signature transactions do not require a PIN but you do need to sign a slip to accept the transaction. With signature transactions, funds are authorized and held in your checking account at the time of purchase until the transactions posts to your account within 1 – 3 days.

  • Does Courtesy Pay work with purchases I make with my debit card?

    Yes, if the funds are not available in your checking account at the time of the purchase but you have opted in to Courtesy Pay, the transaction will be processed.
