What do I need to join?

Have these items ready to go:

  • Social Security Number(s) for applicant(s)
  • A valid form of identification (Driver’s License, Passport)
  • Information for funding your new account

Is there a minimum amount of money I need to join?

To belong to our financial cooperative, you must open and maintain a member savings account with a minimum deposit and balance of $25, ($5 if you are ages 0-11).

What is a cooperative?

A cooperative, or co-op, is an organization or business owned by its members that work together to meet their common needs and goals and have a voice in how it is run.

How do I know if I am eligible to join?

If you live, work, worship, or attend school in our 40 Montana and 9 Wyoming counties, or are a relative of an Altana member, you can join!

What is the history of Altana?

We’re glad you asked! The Altana story is one of our favorites, starting in 1949 when 9 guys in a box car each tossed a 5-dollar bill into a cigar box. The rest, as they say, is history and we’ve been spreading smiles in our communities ever since. Learn more about all things Altana here.
