As we celebrate Altana’s 75th anniversary, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteer board of directors. Their dedication and commitment have been instrumental in shaping our credit union into what it is today. We’re excited to introduce you to each volunteer board member to mark this special milestone. Meet James!
What’s your philosophy on life?
My favorite quote sums it up: “Education is a gift. Never stop learning. Knowledge makes us more independent, creative, and resilient.”
Where did you grow up?
I was raised in Absarokee, MT—a small town where I spent my time hunting, hiking, skiing, and enjoying all of Montana’s outdoor activities.
What do you do now?
I’m a professor at Rocky Mountain College, where I teach business. Teaching is incredibly rewarding, and I’m proud of the work my former students have gone on to do.
How do you spend your free time?
I still love getting outside. I also enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my wife and two sons.
How did you get involved with Altana?
One of my former students, Jason Hagadone, was a business lender at Altana. He helped me secure funding for several business projects. As I learned more about the credit union, I became interested in board service. I’ve been on the Altana Board for five years now.
Why do you believe in the credit union’s mission?
The credit union plays a vital role in teaching proper financial management. Helping members take a long-term approach is critical to securing their financial futures.
James, thank you for your dedicated service on our volunteer board of directors and supervisory committee. Your commitment to lifelong learning and passion for helping others have significantly impacted our team and members. We’re grateful for the valuable insight and leadership you’ve brought to Altana over the past five years.
