Prices have been increasing, and the trend is expected to continue into mid-2022. There’s no time like the present to make more room in your budget.

Cutting unnecessary expenses, minding your utilities, and overhauling your payments could be just the refresh your budget is looking for.

Our world is constantly changing, so it makes sense that our plan to handle it does too.

Some ideas to get you started:

PRICE COMPARE.

You aren’t generic, but often you’ll find a better deal if you shop that way! Swapping the name brand for a store brand could save you an average of 25%.

REDUCE AND REUSE.

Think: using what’s in your freezer or pantry before going back to the store, using or tossing one thing for every item brought home, repurposing what you already have, repainting old furniture to match your current style, and having old clothes mended or altered before buying new.

CUT A SUBSCRIPTION (OR TWO).

Plenty of subscriptions have slipped our minds until we received the monthly bill. It’s time to cancel them.

NEGOTIATE YOUR BILLS.

What you pay for your phone bill, cable, and Internet are all up for discussion. Check out competitor deals, call your service provider, and ask if they can match (or beat) it. A kind conversation may result in better rates!

MIND YOUR UTILITIES.

It’s no secret that minding your energy output does a whole lot of good for your wallet and Mother Earth!

IF YOU OWN A HOME.

If you own, look into whether refinancing your mortgage is smart, especially if your credit score has improved since you took out your original mortgage. The higher your score, the better the interest rate you’ll likely qualify for.

#DEBTFREE LIFE.

If unexpected events forced you into high rate credit cards, payday loans (gulp!), or hocking a family heirloom to stay afloat (double gulp!), we understand. And we’re here to help, not judge. Consolidation can bring you one step closer to that debt-free life.

ONE LAST THING.

Don’t forget to make room for short-term savings and long-term goals, like retirement

Budgeting is a learned skill, but not one you have to learn on your own!
